Who am I?

Christian Aubert

You may have seen me in the cinema or on television in films such as Godzilla, Wild Wild West, Fallen, The Cowboy Way, and many series such as Frazier.

Today, I am also an educator and author of the book Student Manifesto – The Power of Paying Kids to Learn. (You can learn more about my background on christianaubert.com).

But above all, I am someone who has intimately experienced the difficulties you may be going through with French.

As a child, my first language was French. I spoke it first, as everyone naturally does in their own language, before they learn to read and write.

In contrast, for English, I first learned to read and write it… before I learned to speak it.

And when I arrived in New York for the first time, despite my theoretical knowledge, I felt completely intimidated. I understood the words, but I couldn't live them. I felt lost.
